26th Regional Assembly for Middle East to be held on  8 December 2020 by video conference
26th RAME meeting is going to be held on December 8, 2020 by video conference.

TEHRAN UIC RAME: 26th RAME meeting is going to be held on December 8, 2020, once again by video conference due to the COVID-19 outbreak throughout the world.

Following up the activities of the Middle East Regional Assembly according to annual Action Plan of 2020, report on  activities of M.E. Regional Office based in Tehran, the Country Report of Railway presidents and member companies, reports on UIC regional and global activities and ways of their contribution, determining future online seminars and conferences in the field of railway harmonization, standardization, interoperability, telecom-signaling, safety and security and sustainability & climate change and subjects related to

promotion of training cooperation with African Regional Assembly, financial support of members and unpaid membership fees will be addressed in this meeting.

Therefore, you (or your plenipotentiary representative) are kindly requested to do the necessary arrangements to participate in the mentioned video conference.

1. Opening of the 26th UIC RAME Meeting:

  • Welcome address by Mr. Ali İhsan Uygun, Chairman of the Board, Director General of Turkish State Railways (TCDD) & UIC RAME Chairman,
  • Opening speech by Mr. Saeid Rasouli, Vice-Minister for Roads and Urban Development, Chairman of the Board, RAI President & 1st RAME Vice-Chairman,
  • Opening speech by Mr. François Davenne, UIC Director General.

2. Approval of the minutes of the 25th RAME meeting (video conference) by the members

3. Report on the activities of UIC Regional Office in the second half of 2020 by Mr. Abbas Nazari (UIC M.E. Regional Office Director)

· Holding a video conference on “Corridors: a tool to boost international freight”, October 14, 2020, joint cooperation of UIC, RAME & APRA,

· Holding a video conference on “Rail Safety & LC”, November 30, 2020, joint cooperation of UIC and RAME,

· Publishing a document on “influential factors on increasing freight transport in Eurasia” by M.E. Regional Office, Tehran, December 2020 (the draft compiled in the last meeting),

· Collecting all presentations and documents during the last meeting (24 June 2020), and inserting into UIC extranet,

· Regular update of UIC Middle East website (in English, Persian, & Arabic).
