24th Regional Assembly for Middle East (RAME) was held on December 10, 2019 in UIC HQ, Paris by the kind invitation of the esteemed UIC Director General.
TEHRAN UIC RAME: The 24th Regional Assembly for Middle East (RAME) was held on December 10, 2019 in Paris with the presence of UIC Director General, RAME chairman, 1st and 2nd Vice-Chairmen (RAI & ARC, respectively), UIC coordinator for Middle East, some of UIC managers and some representatives of Middle East Railways and UIC. Number of matters such as approval of the minutes of 23rd RAME in Jordan, country reports of the M.E. railways’ Presidents, report on the activities of UIC RAME Regional Office in Tehran in the second half of 2019, a report on new and innovative ideas on rail training, its promotion and development in the Middle East, and a printed document about it, preparation of the Road Map for the Region’s activities, Strategic Action Plan for Middle East Railways 2020, a brief report on the 7th UIC nextstation Conference held in Tehran (presented by Mr. Marc Guigon, UIC Passenger Director), a report on freight transport and corridors (by Ms. Sandra Gehenot, UIC Freight Director), determination of date and venue of the next RAME meeting, and the situation of RAME membership were discussed during the meeting. Mention shall be made that the financial issues of membership fees in the Middle East were presented and discussed by Mr. Thierry Bera, UIC Director of Finance.
At the end, it was determined to hold the 25th Regional Assembly for Middle East meeting in May 2020 in Istanbul at the kind invitation of Turkish State Railways (TCDD).
