Iran’s annual rail exports up by 140%
The Railways of the Islamic Republic of Iran (RAI) said that the volume of commodities exported by the rail network of the country has witnessed a 140% increase in the current Iranian year (started on March 21, 2018), compared with the figures of last year.

TEHRAN UIC RAME: Iranian exports by rail have grown 140% in 2018 compared to 2017, said President of the Railways of the Islamic Republic of Iran (RAI), Dr. Saeed Mohammadzadeh. Rail now has a 14% share of commodity traffic, but further contribution from the private sector is needed. Some 750 of the 1,300 wagons in service need to be overhauled for IRR 8tn (EUR 165.04 mn, USD 190.36 mn).
